QR Code Gone Wrong

It’s been a while since I posted.  This is because I’ve had some paid projects that I’ve been trying to get a handle on.  After all, I’m trying to get paid to be a cartoonist so I’ve got to do the projects that pay first so I can reach this goal.

Today’s cartoon was inspired by Linda Gordon from my BNI group her in San Francisco.  She has a company called Access 2, and her thing is that her company puts logos on things like coffee mugs, pens, mouse pads, etc.  One of the ways I keep my skills sharp is by doing a cartoon during some of my BNI members 7 minute speeches.  I not only get to practice my craft but it means I don’t have to listen to boring speeches.  I also find it a good challenge to come up with a joke in 7 minutes.

So Linda got up to talk about QR Codes which I guess is all the rage in advertising and branding of your company.  These are little bar codes that are printed and can be scanned by an app on your smart phone when you take a picture of them.  This scan takes you to a website where you can be sold various products.  I know you’ve seen them…here’s one if you haven’t.

Stolen from the internet.

Here is the original sketch of the cartoon I did for Linda during her speech.  I gave her the original and she was kind enough to scan it for me.
